Come and join us for a special screening of Farewell, my Queen (Les Adieux à la reine), an acclaimed film by Benoit Jacquot (2012).
The film is an adaptation of Les Adieux à la reine, an award-winning novel by French writer Chantal Thomas (2002). It tells the fictional story of the last days of Queen Marie-Antoinette amid the turmoil that opened the French Revolution, told through the eyes of Sidonie Laborde, a young servant.
This screening will be held with the special participation of writer Chantal Thomas. Please stay after the film for a discussion with the writer - she will share her thoughts on the art of adapting a novel to the screen.
