What do we talk about when we talk about CHEESE?

How can one talk about French gastronomy or culinary culture without certain knowledge of cheese (fromage) ?

Comté, Camembert, Mozarella... these names are not unfamiliar for us who live in Hong Kong. But few have had an opportunity to get to know the origins, the making and the characteristics of different cheeses; and there are a huge variety of them!

Alliance Française is glad to have among us Antoine Zaruba, cheese master and founder of The Cheese House. During this 90-minute workshop, he will lead you on a journey to discover a wide range of cheeses while sharing with you his insights of certain selected products and personal stories of the producers. And OF COURSE you will get to taste the cheese and enjoy a couple of glasses of wine.

The Guest Cheese Master


After having travelled the world in his previous career, Antoine Zaruba, a French - Australian - Canadian cheese connoisseur, has then trained to become a cheese master. He has visited all over Europe, seeking the nicest farms and the best products, and founded The Cheese House in Hong Kong in early 2019.
