Up to a recent past, the core question about organic wines was whether they constituted a simple and soon to disappear fad or on the contrary a more long-term trend. France has now some 14% of its vineyards either in organic viticulture or in the midst of being converted, and will become the first market in the world for the consumption of organic wines by the end of 2021 — clearly, the future looks organic!

But what is an organic wine, or more precisely what makes a wine organic, biodynamic or simply “natural”? What are the benefits and the drawbacks of “going” organic when it comes to wine consumption?
This workshop will aim at providing answers to these questions by going for a Tour de France of organic wines,

from the Loire Valley (13% of vineyards in bio or converting) in the West
to Alsace (8%) in the East,
and from Champagne (8%) in the North-East
to Provence (23%!) in the South.

The tasting of five different organic/biodynamic wines from these different regions will be a vital part of the Tour!
