We are glad to present a program full of Viennese music in Hong Kong. We start with one of the great sonatas from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the heroes of Austrian classical music.

The sonata was composed in 1784 in Vienna for the famous Italian violonist Regina Strinasacchi and was first performed in the same year in Vienna with Mozart on the piano. The sonata consists of three beautifully and perfectly made movements.

This great sonata is followed by some short pieces composed by the famous Austrian violonist Fritz Kreisler. In this special pieces you can feel and hear the spirit and glamour of Vienna, which once was the leading city in classical music. In Austria this music is called “Kaffehausmusik”, which means music for a Viennese coffehouse.

We will close our program with one of our heroes, with Franz Schubert. Franz Schubert composed more than 1000 pieces in his short life and most of them are masterpieces. We would like to present you one of these masterpieces, his Duo in A major for violin and piano from the year 1817.
