Let's play together!

Step into the extraordinary worlds of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas or Journey to the Center of the Earth through board games. Whether you’re a experienced gamer or just curious, enjoy the thrill of rolling dice and strategising your way to victory. Bring your friends or make new ones, the event is open to everyone: French speakers, learners, and non-French speakers alike! Game night! Play in whatever language you like, sprinkling in a few French words here and there!

Volunteers will be assisting throughout the afternoon to explain the games and offer advice. Of course, the evening will conclude with a buffet open to all participants!

From 15 October to 5 December 2025, the Consulate General of France and the Alliance Française will celebrate the legacy of Jules Verne through a series of events marking the 120th anniversary of his passing. Among the activities planned are a boardgame afternoon, an exhibition at the Central Library, a model-making workshop at the Alliance Française, an improvisation show at the Fringe, a literary anniversary celebration at Parenthèses, a screening of the film ‘April and the Extraordinary World’, and many other surprises to discover!

Sorry, you've missed the RSVP deadline for this event.
