French Spirits Tasting: a “Tour de France” of flavors

As part of the French May Arts Festival, and specifically within the gastronomy events of French
Gourmay,
Alliance Française is delighted to host a tasting of French spirits! This evening promises to be a journey through the rich tapestry of
French culture, with Cognac and Armagnac as star attractions, alongside other exquisite offerings.
The evening will commence with a 15-minute presentation that delves into the history and tradition of spirits in France. Following this
introduction, participants will embark on a tasting session, sampling five distinct French spirits, each telling its own story through
its region of origin, history, and unique production process. Prepare for a delightful “Tour de France” of flavors, featuring:
- Mirabelle Eau de Vie from the sun-kissed hills of the North-Eastern region, capturing the essence of ripe mirabelle plums.
- Genépy from the French Alps, a fragrant herbal liqueur that embodies the spirit of alpine adventure.
- Pastis from the vibrant South-Eastern region, a refreshing anise-flavored aperitif that evokes the warmth of Provençal summers.
- Armagnac VSOP from the picturesque landscapes of South-Western France, offering a rich and complex profile that speaks to centuries of craftsmanship.
- Cognac VSOP also from the South-Western region, renowned for its elegance and depth, perfect for savoring in good company.
We look forward to sharing this delightful experience with you!
