Kei Lam's latest work
"The Flavors of Concrete" is an autobiographical graphic novel chronicling Kei Lam's teenage years in a Parisian suburb.
She portrays her immigrant life between a bohemian father and a worried mother, while exploring the urban landscape of La Noue. The work
lucidly addresses integration challenges, family dynamics, and cultural complexities, offering a perspective on the immigrant experience in
France.
《混凝土的味道》是一部自傳式圖像小說,描述林琪在巴黎近郊93省的少年時期。她細緻地描繪了作為移民的生活:游離於波希米亞式的父親與憂心忡忡的母親之間,同時探索拉努區的城市規劃。作品以清晰的視角呈現了融入社會的種種挑戰、家庭與文化的複雜性,展現了在法國的移民生活經歷。
Author biography
Born in Hong Kong in 1985, Kei Lam graduated from the Paris City Engineering School in 2009. After a brief stay in China, she worked in
France as an urban planning consultant. She pursued illustration studies at École de Condé Paris, obtaining her master's degree in 2016. Now
an established illustrator for advertising and media, she has published three graphic novels: "Banana Girl," "The Flavors of Concrete"
(2021), and "Stand Up for Yourself" (2024).
林琪1985年生於香港,2009年畢業於巴黎城市工程學院。短暫旅居中國後,曾在法國從事城市規劃顧問工作。其後她在巴黎康德藝術學院修讀插畫,於2016年取得碩士學位。現為廣告及媒體插畫師,已出版三部圖像小說:《香蕉女孩》、《混凝土的味道》(2021)及《為自己挺身而出》(2024)。
The workshop : Learn to create your own postcard!
During this workshop, Kei Lam will bring some postcards and help the kids create their own personalized ones. She will guide them through
the creation process and give them advice to boost their creativity and improve their technique.
All the materials will be provided by the Alliance Française.
