Young Kids Classes
A great curriculum of French language designed for children
Our ES curriculum is designed as a bridge between our Preschool program and our 7–11 curriculum aligned with CECFRL (from A1.1 toward
mid-A2).
For 6-year-olds, language learning must remain oral-first, playful, and strongly scaffolded: children
learn best through songs, games, routines, stories, gestures, and short interactive moments.
ES ensures continuity by maintaining a preschool-friendly learning atmosphere while gradually introducing the
classroom interaction patterns
and language building blocks that will support children in the later CECFRL progression.
Our approach
At age 6, children are ready to build strong foundations for learning. They start Primary school, develop early writing skills, and continue to manage multiple languages. Our Young Kids program at Alliance Française helps them begin learning French successfully.
With La Récré (in partnership with TV5MONDE) and resources created by our teaching team, children explore fun themes such as “at the zoo” and “picnic.”
Through songs, stories, and arts and crafts, they grow in confidence and develop a
lasting interest in French language and culture.

Curriculum
Students of 6 years old will be able to enroll in the Kids classes for 7-10 years old following their 7th birthday. The new program for
Young Kids classes, La Récré, enables a smooth transition from Young Kids class to the following Kids class.

Initiation to French (6 years old)
A new Young Kids program is introduced to the kids of 6 years old for Pedagogical purposes. In the Young Kids classes, we
aim to develop their speaking and listening skills as well as build the foundation of reading and writing skills. With the use of the new
textbook La Récré (in partnership with TV5MONDE) and learning resources prepared by the teaching team, different topics such as “at the
zoo”, “pique-nique” will be covered in different terms. Through songs, children literature, art and craft, students of 6 years old will
develop their creativity and interest for the French language and culture.
Registration fee (AF Member) is valid for one year and can enjoy the benefits equivalent to an AF Ordinary member.
