During the Fête du cinéma d'animation (Animated Film Festival), from 14 to 31 October, Alliance Française will bring to you two screenings as well as a free streaming service for a wide variety of feature and short films. The second screening will feature Les Hirondelles de Kaboul.

Les Hirondelles de Kaboul is a 2019 French animated film directed by Zabou Breitman and Eléa Gobé Mévellec, based on the novel of the same name by Yasmina Khadra. It is nominated in 2019 for the best feature film for the Annecy Internation Animated Film Festival and for the selection "Un certain Regard" in the Cannes Festival; in 2020 for best animated film in the César Award.

Summer 1998 - Kabul under Taliban rule. Zunaira and Mohsen are young and in love. Despite the daily violence and misery, they hope for a better future. One day, a foolish gesture causes life to take an irrevocable turn.
