Meet Cha Guo's filmakers: Daphné Mandel and Guy Bertrand

In this documentary, Daphné Mandel and Guy Bertrand show us a less known part of Hong-Kong. Far away from the skyscrapers and of the never ending stream of people in the city-center, hides a village in which it seams that time itself flows differently. It is this authentic Hong-Kong that the two directors wanted to shows us, before it dissapears under a real-estate project which does not leave any space to the crafstmen and to the inhabitants who have been leaving in the region for generations.
Thanks to a mutual trust built upon the numerous meals shared, Daphné Mendel and Guy Bertand have created an authentic artwork, which allows us to glimpse at another Hong-Kong, and have given to those who generally do not have a voice, a chance to tell us about their lives and their stories, before they might get erased, but which will never, thanks to this movie, be forgotten.

Dans ce documentaire, Daphné Mandel et Guy Bertrand nous donnent à voir une partie moins connue de Hong-Kong. Loin des tours de verre et du flot incessant du centre-ville, se cache un village dans lequel il semble que le temps lui-même passe différemment. C'est ce Hong-Kong authentique que les deux réalisateurs ont voulu montrer, avant qu'il ne disparaisse sous un projet immobilier ultramoderne qui ne laisse pas de place aux artisans et aux habitants qui habitent pourtant la région depuis des générations.
Ainsi, grâce à une confiance tissée au fil des repas et des tasses de thé partagés, Daphné Mandel et Guy Bertrand ont créé une oeuvre authentique qui nous offre un aperçu d'un autre Hong-Kong, et ont donné à ceux qui n'ont généralement pas voix au chapitre l'occasion de nous montrer leur vie et leur histoire, avant qu'elles soient peut-être effacées mais qui ne seront grâce à ce film, jamais oubliées.
