Hong Kong Design On Stage At Maison&Objet 2024

We invite all professional designers in Hong Kong to submit their proposal to participate in the Maison&Objet show in September
2024!
Submission of proposals:
from 22 December 2023 to 16 February 2024 at 23:59 (Hong Kong time)
Winners’ announcement on 15 April 2024, via press and social media.
Maison&Objet”, the leading global organisation for international design, home décor and lifestyle as a whole founded 30 years ago, host to two international fairs every year in Paris (France), and
Alliance Française de Hong Kong, one of the oldest Hong Kong non-profit organisations, founded 70 years ago and part of the global network of the French language and cultural promotion,
Are proud to announce the inaugural edition of the
"HONG KONG DESIGN ON STAGE AT MAISON&OBJET 2024" COMPETITION,
with the aim:
- To showcase Hong Kong design excellence in a designated Hong Kong pavilion at the prestigious Maison&Objet design week fair in September 2024, and back in Hong Kong in December 2024.
- To offer 8 emerging Hong Kong designers and design studios, along with 2 master designers, a global platform to showcase their work and share their vision of the design, 30 years from now.
THEME: "IMPROVED URBAN LIFESTYLE - CONSCIOUS DESIGN"
Competing designers are challenged to integrate principles of conscious design into their proposal, encompassing circularity, recycling, upcycling, long life materials and products, sustainable techniques, solutions and technology and environmentally responsible practices.
DETAILED BENEFITS FOR PARTICIPANTS
Network expansion; Learning experience; Professional growth.
The 8 selected winners of the competition will be offered:
- A round-trip economy airfare between Paris and Hong Kong to attend the Showcase
- A 4-night stay in a hotel in Paris to attend the Showcase
- The presentation of their Manifesto, profile and selected design creation in the dedicated “Hong Kong Pavilion” as part of Maison&Objet fair in September 2024 and then in a prestigious location In Hong Kong in December 2024.
- “Business matching” meetings and encounters with global industry professional
- Media and press exposure
