With the return of spring, the duck finds himself again in the company of his many animal friends. These animal characters are all designed in a unique way where the spelling of their name literally forms their body! Fascinating way for vocabulary learning by the way.

This is a beautiful work which entices audience of all ages. Striking illustrations are accompanied by a poetic text. One will find so many details in the imagery that one can immerse oneself in the dreamlike spring season with the sound of French even without fully understanding the text.

We join Cici the hedgedog, finally awaken in spring after his long hibernation, on his first walk in the forest where he will encounter some mysterious red mushrooms. What could be interesting to all our local learners is that the story is in fact an adaptation of an ancient Chinese tale.

This is a more particular story. A tale about a village in Burkina Faso, in West Africa, awaiting the first rain of spring. With simple and minimalist storytelling, it nonetheless offers us a glance into the landscape and ordinary life of this French speaking country.
