Synopsis

It's the story, amusing and celebratory, of Serge Gainsbourg and his famed look. The story begins with a young Jewish boy, who saunters around a German-occupied Paris; of a timid poet who leaves behind his paintings and his attic room to dazzle nightclub crowds during the Swinging Sixties. It's a "heroic life" where the creatures of his mind become full-bodied beings on screen and his eloquent words match up to the scandalous love affairs. All of these elements bring forth a subversive movement, with a loyal and rebellious citizen as its star, one who makes his mark on the whole world.
